For years, BOTE has been developing products that marry innovative design with cool vintage vibes, helping you stand apart on any lake, ocean, or river. From simple yet effective accessories, like the Grab Rac or KULA Cooler, to products designed for specific yet passionate hobbyists, like the Rackham paddle board and Rover micro skiff, BOTE knows how to deliver.
Is a trip to Destin or 30A complete without stopping at AJ's Destin or AJ's Grayton Beach? Absolutely not. You may find yourself there for the boozy cocktails and people watching, but you can't leave without trying the sushi. So when the AJ's team approached us about creating a namesake roll to add to their sushi menu, our response was: hell yes, as long as we can be a part of the recipe testing.
Whether you're an avid fly fisherman venturing into the world of stand up paddle fishing or a SUP enthusiast who wants to try his hand at fly fishing from a paddle board, you've come to the right place. One of the most daunting things about fishing or fly fishing from a paddle board for the first time is the idea that a paddle board isn't stable enough. What makes our products unique is that every single board offers maximum stability for its size, weight, construction, and shape, thanks to our industry changing Gatorshell Technology and AeroBOTE Technology.
There are a few really great things about SUP camping: First, it gives you killer access to pristine natural areas you might not otherwise reach via car camping or even backpacking. Second, it's a journey trip, which adds an explorative expedition quality to the paddle board experience (aka you feel like Lewis & Clark or Tom Sawyer). Finally, you can pack as much beer as you want without worrying about weight. Okay, we're partly kidding about that last one, but what is true about SUP camping is that if you pack smart, you can pack more. More than backpacking, for instance, where some folks skimp on clean underwear just to shed a couple of ounces. Not necessary with SUP camping.
Coined as the "World's Luckiest Fishing Village", Destin, Florida, is known for its white sand beaches and easy access to deep sea fishing. But locals think of it as a once small fishing village that morphed into a tourist hot spot over the course of the last few decades.
If you're familiar with BOTE and our product line up, you know design is an important part of what we do. In fact, it's everything we do. Corey and Magda didn't look at the paddle board industry back in 2009 and say "this industry could really use another utilitarian, white paddle board with a logo plastered across the top and bottom." To be honest, we don't know exactly what was said in that initial discussion, but we know it led us to where we are today.
2020 has been a wild ride. One that, in the most positive light, led us outdoors more often and gave us more time with our families. And with the year almost over and the holiday season right around the corner, it's time to close it out with a bang. We're talking gifts for the whole family. For the fitness junkie who's opting to get their sweat on outside over the gym, for boaters and anglers who spend all their free time exploring the area's waterways, and definitely for paddle adventure enthusiasts who plan to go farther and explore new places in 2021.
Before you know where to look, you've got to know what you're looking for. That's kind of the deal when it comes to seeking out standup paddle boarding destinations. Do you want to catch waves? Or is paddle board fishing more your speed? Maybe you're more of a SUP camping trip kind of person. Whatever your paddle preferences, the good news is that the Southeast is loaded with world-class options for every kind of paddler. Like an overstuffed burrito, the Southeast is basically bursting at the seams with rivers, lakes, bays, bayous, freshwater springs, and more.
Just because it isn't the stand up paddle equivalent of a bluebird day isn't a reason to stay home. If getting out on the water is a passion for you but you just need some direction on what to wear to make it a year-round hobby, you've come to the right place.
